Product Description
Bolted Aluminium Link
For Low Voltage applications up to 1000 volts
For solid and stranded, sector or circular conductor, aluminium or copper.
Bolted aluminium links are designed to be simply bolted to the conductor, which eliminates the need for crimping tools and the attendant operator skills. The conductor is connected using a proven shear bolt technology, by which the shear bolts are simply tightened until they shear. Both stranded and solid conductors can be connected in the same way, by simply tightening the shear bolts, which creates the correct torque on the bolts for a perfect connection.
The inner surface of the link barrels have a specially designed grooved surface, which is designed to break oxide layers on the conductor, creating a low resistance barrel to conductor interface which performs better than crimped joints. This low resistance interface applies to both stranded and solid conductors. The links are supplied tin plated, which means they can be used for copper and aluminium conductor. They are specially designed for LV applications and are specially chamfered to eliminate sharp corners.
The connector is manufactured from high strength aluminium alloy that is tin-plated to allow the mixing of conductor materials. The installation of the connector requires only an allen key. This product has been fully tested to AS4325 in CABAC's NATA laboratory, and test reports can be provided on request.
